Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Unharam ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Unharam website or apps ("the Service"), you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who can use Unharam
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at machchhargita@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
2. What Unharam does
Unharam helps you organise your own money information. You import or enter your transactions, and we categorise them and present budgets, insights, zakat calculations and reference information about Islamic financial products.
Unharam does not hold, transfer, invest or manage your money, and has no access to your bank accounts. We are not a bank, a broker, an investment adviser, a licensed financial institution, or a zakat collection agency.
3. Your content
The financial data you put into Unharam remains yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and process it in order to provide the Service. You confirm you have the right to upload anything you import.
4. Not financial advice
Everything in the Service — including budgets, forecasts, insights, product listings for financing, sukuk or takaful, screening results, and answers from the in-app assistant — is provided for general information only. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy or use any product.
- Product details are drawn from publicly available issuer material and may be out of date or incomplete. Always confirm terms directly with the provider before applying.
- We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any bank or issuer listed in the app.
- You are responsible for your own financial decisions. Consider taking advice from a licensed professional.
5. Zakat and religious content
The zakat calculators, halal screening and educational material are estimates and general information, produced from commonly cited scholarly positions. They are not a fatwa or a religious ruling.
- Scholars differ on several points, including nisab standards and the treatment of pensions, shares and debts.
- Figures depend entirely on the values you enter and the metal or food prices in use at the time.
- Zakat is a personal religious obligation. Please confirm your calculation with a qualified scholar before discharging it.
Unharam never collects, holds or distributes zakat. Any payment is made directly by you to your chosen recipient or authority.
6. The AI assistant
"Ask Unharam" is an automated tool that answers questions about your own figures. It can be wrong or incomplete, and it is limited to personal-finance and Islamic-finance topics. Do not rely on it as your only source, and do not use it in place of professional or scholarly advice.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights while using the Service;
- attempt to access another user's account or data;
- probe, scan, overload or disrupt our systems;
- scrape, copy or resell our content or data;
- reverse-engineer the Service except where the law permits it;
- upload malware or anything harmful.
8. Paid features
Some features may require payment in future. Prices, billing periods and renewal terms will be shown before you buy. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are also governed by those stores' terms, and refunds are handled under their policies.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the Service running but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
10. Ending your account
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete my account, or via unharam.com/delete-account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or the law. Sections 4, 5, 11 and 12 survive termination.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data, or financial losses arising from decisions you make using the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these terms.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the UAE have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
